The GEMS section at Oldham Golf Club are holding their Christmas Meal / Prize Presentation / Party on the 12th December.

Development Draw News

Help support your club. Buy a number in our monthly development draw. Contact Barbara in the office or email her at info@oldhamgolfclub.com

The monies raised in the Development Draw are reinvested in your club. Past projects included French windows, replacements window units in the clubhouse, the the beginning of refurbishment of the practice area and the installation of an outdoor seating area. Current projects include new signage, new winter tees and new bunker sand.

If you wish to take part in the draw (you must be over 18) there are some numbers available at £10 per month. This is usually paid for by monthly standing order. If you wish to improve your chances of winning you may have more than one number. 50% of the monthly income is paid out in prise money to your bank account. the other 50% goes towards the club. Currently the amount paid out each month is £175. 1st prize is £110 2nd prize is £45 and 3rd prize is £20.

Job Vacancy Head Greenkeeper

Head Green Keeper Oldham Golf Club

Applications are invited for the position of HGK

We are looking for a hands-on Greenkeeper who can manage the day-to-day operations of the course.

Oldham Golf Club was founded in 1892. We are situated on the east side of Oldham. 18 holes of parkland and moorland with fantastic views of the surrounding area. A challenging course enjoyed by all levels of golfer.

The successful candidate will be capable of planning, organising, controlling, and contributing to the green keeping team’s activities.

A high standard of course presentation and quality of greens is required.

You will be responsible for the course tee to green along with its surrounding areas to provide a generally pleasing appearance.

Candidates should possess all relevant green keeping qualifications.

NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

Spraying certificates PA1, PA2 and PA6.

Have a history of success at a known quality course as HGK or senior assistant

You will be expected to budget and control expenditure on the course.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Motivate and supervise the green keeping team with an enthusiastic attitude

Understand and be able to implement Health and Safety and other relevant legislation

Manage and maintain the course machinery, drainage, and irrigation system.

Be able to work closely with the chairman of greens and Club committee

The salary for this position is negotiable.
