membership is open to all GENTS 55+ 7day, 5day or 9-hole OGC members (special arrangements may sometimes be made for second club members, 2day and non OGC members but additional Green Fees may be payable etc.)

weekly GEMS competitions are available on BRS to be entered by GEMS members and are held mainly on a Thursday morning over a bottom 11. After the golf, food can be purchased separately, then there is a brief presentation meeting followed by a general get together

one in four of the weekly competitions (the individual and team competition) can be taken forward to a club handicap
-
the weekly competitions include special “drawn” GEMS majors and a captain’s away day.

if there is a clash with the GEMS/Seniors Tour, then the weekly competition will be on a Tuesday morning
-
additional individuals knock out competitions and cumulative result trophies are awarded at the end of the year.

funds (currently a football card) raised over the year help pay for the GEMS Prizes etc.

cost is £30 (this pays for your Christmas meal etc.) per calendar year payable via our treasurer John Billington on (or after) the 1st January

The GEMS (over 55’s – Gentlemen Elderly Members Section) play at Oldham Golf Club (usually on a Thursday morning) over eleven holes, all on the flat. Club members who would like to join this section should email our treasurer, John Billington at billington296@btinternet.com, make an enquiry via our contacts page (see below), or call in to see one of their group on a Thursday morning.
