Founded in 1892 Oldham Golf Club is literally on the edge of the town and as the town is in the foot of the pennines, the views from 'top o' course' are quite magnificent, the Cheshire Plain and Jodrell Bank always visible and on clear days the Welsh mountains away to the west come into view.

Our membership is small by some comparisons, so members get to play when they want, rather than joining the lottery used at some clubs with larger memberships. We have a limited number of opportunities for new members in all categories for 2009 (including offers of free lessons for a limited time). Contact us for further details or download an application form from this site.

The course is in good condition and the greens are regularly voted best in the area. We welcome visitors on most days by prior arrangement and the packages for societies can be tailored to suit your tastes.

We pride ourselves in being one of the oldest Clubs in the area and probably the friendliest if our feedback from visitors is anything to go by.

The course is part parkland and part moorland, and the local saying that one leg needs to be longer than the other to play here is probably just an excuse for those who haven't yet managed to handle the tight fairways. Bearing in mind the number of elderly members still playing in competitions, the terrain of the course must make pretty healthy walking.

Oldham is a member of the Oldham and District Golf League. Visit their website at www.odgl.org.uk

The elderly male members have their own website which you can visit at  www.ogcgems.com

Come and visit and enjoy.
